Most side and rear tempered glass lands between $200 and $450 with the cleanup included. A side window is usually an hour or two; back glass runs longer because the defroster grid has to be connected correctly and the cargo area needs clearing. Morris Heights is a short drive to the lot at 1589 Macombs Road.

Back glass is the job people underestimate. It carries the defroster grid and often the radio antenna, both printed onto the glass and both connected by tabs that have to seat properly or you lose the function without losing the picture. When that pane goes, the cubes travel the entire length of the car: into the trunk well, under the rear seat, into the parcel shelf, into the seat belt reels. We clear all of it, connect the grid, and test that the lines actually warm before the car leaves.
Side windows are quicker but they are not simple. The regulator gets inspected while the panel is off, the track gets cleared of debris, and the vapor barrier goes back sealed rather than taped over in a way that lets water into the footwell later. Door panels are refitted with their own clips. If a panel clip broke coming off, it gets replaced, because a door card that rattles over a pothole is the kind of small failure that makes an otherwise good repair feel cheap. Nobody remembers the glass once it is in. They remember the noise the car started making afterward.
“They did a great job. I went to get my passenger door window fixed. They were very nice and had a great deal . Same day service. I waited a while but it could be because it was on a Sunday and didn’t have all their staff.”

The steep blocks between University Avenue and the Harlem River are where most Morris Heights side glass gets broken, and it happens overnight to parked cars. What follows is usually worse than the glass itself: rain comes straight in through the opening, the carpet takes it, and by the time the car dries out it smells. That is why we would rather see the car the same morning than three days later. If it will not start or you cannot move it off the block, the van comes to you at no extra charge inside the Bronx. Either way, before the keys go back you get a car whose interior has been vacuumed out properly, not one with cubes waiting under the seat rail.
Same service, same price, other Bronx neighborhoods:
It will, and we check it before you leave. The grid is printed on the replacement glass and connects through tabs at each side; if those are not seated cleanly, the lines never heat. Testing takes a minute and it saves you discovering the problem on the first cold morning. The same applies to any antenna element printed into the pane.
Short trips in dry weather are usually fine, and from Morris Heights it is a few minutes. Tape a bag over the opening if it is raining, and drive with the doors locked. If the car is full of loose glass or the weather is bad, call and we will send the van instead. There is no trip charge for that inside the Bronx.
Plan on noticeably longer. A side window is often an hour or two. Back glass adds the electrical connections and a much bigger cleanup, since the cubes spread through the trunk and under the rear seat. We would rather take the extra time than hand back a car that hums on the highway or leaves you finding glass for months.
