Cubes from a shattered door window end up inside the door skin, under the seat rails and deep in the carpet, and getting them out is most of the job. That work, the pane and the fitting come to $200 to $500 on most vehicles. Soundview is fifteen to twenty minutes west along the Bruckner and the Cross Bronx.

The glass is the quick part. The slow part is everything the broken pane left behind, because tempered glass shatters into thousands of cubes that go straight down inside the door skin, into the window channel, under the seat rails and deep into the carpet. Leave them and you get a rattle that follows you everywhere and, eventually, a regulator that binds. So the door panel comes off, the cavity is emptied, the track is run clear, the regulator is checked while access is easy, and the interior gets vacuumed before the new pane is fitted and the panel goes back on sound clips.
The replacement also has to be the right part rather than merely a part that fits. Door glass differs by tint density and by whether it is laminated or tempered. Quarter panes are often bonded in rather than sliding in a channel. Back glass carries the printed defroster grid and sometimes an antenna. A quick call with the VIN settles which pane your car takes and whether it is sitting on the shelf. If your car is standing open after an overnight break-in, say so and we will get it closed the same day.
“They really got the job done quick and efficiently while also cleaning up the shattered glass. The minute I arrived they serviced my car and I didn’t have to worry about parking because they had a big lot. Thanks so much”

The surface lots that come with Soundview's larger apartment complexes shape the pattern of this work. Cars sit outdoors in the open all night, in numbers, which is convenient for residents and equally convenient for anyone testing door handles at three in the morning. Rear door panes and small quarter windows are what usually go. The upside of those same lots is that they are the easiest places in the Bronx to work in: flat, open, and with room to get the van alongside. So you have a genuine choice. Drive over to the shop and use the lot here while it is done, or leave the car exactly where it is parked and let us come to it, at the same price either way.
Same service, same price, other Bronx neighborhoods:
Usually, yes, and those lots are among the easier places we work. We need permission to be there, a flat spot with room to open the doors fully, and dry weather for anything bonded. Give us the address and the space or building number at booking. There is no trip charge for mobile work anywhere in the Bronx.
Most common panes are on the shelf and a great many others reach us from the warehouse the same day, which is why the majority of jobs finish on the day the car arrives. Genuinely rare glass takes longer, and if that is your situation we say so at the counter rather than keeping the car and hoping. Call ahead with the details to find out before you drive.
Yes, and it sits in the same $200 to $500 range for most vehicles. Bring the car in for a sunroof rather than booking mobile, because we want to look at the frame and the drain tubes as well as the glass. A panel that broke because water was backing up in blocked drains will do it again if only the pane gets swapped.
Tell us the vehicle and the glass that's damaged — you'll see your price instantly, and we'll hold it for you.
